Vegan Cuts Snack Box Review!

Have you heard of Vegan Cuts?  They offer great deals on vegan products, as well as monthly snack and beauty boxes.  They were kind enough to send me the March snack box to review.  Let’s get right to the goods!

VC cookie bag

Since I’m such a sweets addict I decided to start off the review with these vanilla cookies from HomeFree.  I was hoping I might be able to eat the whole bag on the down low, but you can’t get much past Pearl, so I ended up sharing.  We both really liked them.  My only complaint is that there weren’t more in the bag!

Root Beer is one of my favorite drinks, so I was excited to try this one from Oogave.  Unfortunately it tasted just a little too diet for me.  If that’s your thing, you’d probably really like this.  It wasn’t my favorite, but it wasn’t terrible.  I’m just not a diet soda fan.

This Earnest Eats chewy granola bar was another treat that I ended up sharing, and like the cookies, it was definitely a hit.  The texture and flavor were great, and I could see myself buying these to have on hand for snack emergencies when we’re out and about.

Now for some savories!  I’ll set the scene – it was lunch time, I was tired, and Pearl and I were huuuuungry!  Thankfully I remembered my trusty snack box and grabbed this Explore Asian soybean noodle soup.  Sometimes you just don’t want to cook, am I right?

I love soup cups, mostly because they’re so easy, but they’re also usually surprisingly good.  This soup had great flavor, but the texture of the noodles was a little weird for me at first.  It didn’t bother me enough to not eat this again, and I would be glad to have it in the cabinet for those times where I want something fast and filling.

Open cup, pour water, stir and let it sit.  So easy, and great for travel too!

I love salt & vinegar chips (actually all chips), so I was pretty excited to try these RW Garcia Salt & Vinegar Tortatos.  Tortatos?  C’mon.  With that name you know you want to try them too.

VC Tortatos

These reminded me of chips that I loved as a kid called “Tato Skins”.  (I can’t remember what day it is, but I could sing you the whole song from that commercial – “…They’re made with potatoes and skins that are real.  Tato Skins from Keebler… baked potato appeal!”)

These are WAY healthier, and still really yummy.  The tangy vinegar flavor isn’t what you’d expect with the texture of the chip, but it somehow all works.

VC oatmeal cup

Back to sweets!  The first thing I tried out of the snack box was this Espresso Maca Mulberry cereal from Vigilant Eats, and it set the bar high.  You can add hot or cold water (or non-dairy milk if you prefer), and it even comes with a little spoon.

The espresso flavor was interesting in a good way.  The texture and taste were both fantastic.  This also kept me full for longer than I thought it would.

I would absolutely buy these cereal cups to have on the go and for travel.  Pearl also loved this, though I only let her try a teeny bite since a two year old is enough work without the added espresso!

VC choco coco

Another winner was this OCHO Organic candy bar.  My biggest issue was that there wasn’t more!  I get that the portions are for sampling, but this was so good that it was almost cruel to have just a tiny bit.  This one was not shared.

There were a couple other items in the box that I haven’t been able to try yet.  We actually just moved (pretty unexpectedly), and the protein powders and chai drink mix I was planning to try got thrown into a box that I’ve yet to go through.

That being said, even if they weren’t in the snack box I would still recommend it just off of what I tried.  It might seem pricey at first, but for the quality of the snacks that you’re getting and the fact that it ships free, it’s a great deal.  Especially if you’re in an area where vegan food isn’t that accessible.  While I have access to lots of great vegan products here in Los Angeles, it’s still fun to try new things that I might not have found on my own.  And who doesn’t like getting fun packages in the mail?  It’s the best!
